I’m Jabari-Jason Tyson-Phipps—but you can call me JJTP®

I’m a New York attorney, tech co-founder, and recovering federal agent who happens to live for the “unsolvable.”

My perspective has been forged across 97 countries and all seven continents—including once navigating the entire globe in just a few months. Whether I was playing rugby on multiple continents, climbing rock faces, or protecting world leaders at the Olympic Games, I’ve learned that the best solutions usually come from angles everyone else missed.

That same DNA is what I bring to the boardroom. I’ve scaled a startup to a multimillion-dollar exit, argued before the Supreme Court, and currently serve as outside General Counsel to a $100M+ AUM investment adviser and a boutique IP and entertainment law firm—while building AI-enabled tools and policy for the federal government on the side.

I’m also an FAA-licensed pilot (which may or may not have started as an early midlife crisis but turned into one of my favorite skills), a lifelong techie who’s been building computers since I was a kid, and just as likely to be found on a rugby pitch, a rock face, or deep in a video game as in a courtroom.

When Did I Start?

A Proven Track Record, Local Roots.

The Bronx, ambition, and a few lucky breaks.

I’m a kid from the Bronx who somehow ended up analyzing fixed income derivatives at Goldman Sachs before I could legally rent a car. That early taste of high-stakes finance taught me something crucial: the people who win aren’t always the smartest in the room—they’re the ones who see the patterns faster.

From there, I chased curiosity across the globe. Brown University for undergrad, then law school at Washington University in St. Louis with a detour to Singapore to study international business law—because apparently, I thought one time zone wasn’t challenging enough. Along the way, I clerked on ERISA class actions, learned how billion-dollar mergers actually work, and discovered I was better at solving problems than following someone else’s playbook.

That realization led me to co-found a tech startup, join the Diplomatic Security Service (yes, the federal agent thing), and eventually build a legal practice that lets me work with everyone from fintech founders to Grammy winners.

Today, I’m proud to serve clients in New York City, Westchester, and around the world drawing on my global perspective and deep local knowledge as a kid who grew up in the Bronx.

From the academic halls of Brown, Singapore, Chile, and Argentina to working across continents as a federal agent, I’ve spent my career collecting perspectives instead of souvenirs. Seoul taught me patience. Santiago taught me to negotiate in Spanish while eating empanadas at 2 AM. And countless border crossings taught me that problems are universal, but solutions are local.

The map below tells the geographic story—but what it doesn’t show is that every pin represents a lesson in how different cultures solve problems, build trust, and get things done. That’s what I bring back to my practice in New York City and Westchester.

I have traveled to 97 countries, all 7 continents, 6 of the 7 modern wonders of the world, and the pyramids in Giza.






I earned an internationally recognized 2nd Dan Black Belt in Taekwondo from the Kukkiwon and have trained in Muay Thai, Goju Ryu, and BJJ.






I’ve been a techie since I started building computers as a kid—today that curiosity shows up in AI, drones, and video games as much as it does in my training in multiple coding languages, cyber security, and risk management.






I earned a marksman distinction from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.






I founded and fund the Tyson Twins Foundation 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit to help bridge the gap between legal services people can afford and legal serves they need.






I hold an FAA Pilot Certificate—what started as a dare turned into one of my favorite skills. I’ve also been skydiving, paragliding, and parasailing on multiple continents.
